In Praise of Lemons

Recipe
Lemon Buttermilk Bread Pudding with Blackberry Sauce

I love bread puddings, but they're typically fall/winter recipes for me. I'm so glad I've found this lemon and blackberry version that practically begs to be served in warm weather...nothing says summer quite like the tangy bite of a dessert with citrus and berries! This bread pudding is very lemony (which I love), but it's balanced with creamy, mellow buttermilk, and given a syrupy sweet finish with blackberries pureed with a bit of sugar. . I tried serving this several ways: warm, room temperature, and chilled (all in the name of science, I swear): my favorite way was to eat the pudding at room temperature with the blackberry sauce warmed and spooned over the top - although all three options really were delicious. Lemon desserts are my most current love in the kitchen, so if you have any favorites, please send them my way!
