Garlicky Green Beans
(I talked about this recipe here)
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon chicken or vegetable bouillon granules (granules work much better than cubes)
1/3 cup white wine
salt and pepper, to taste
Steam green beans for 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender.
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and saute for 3 minutes, until tender and fragrant.
Add green beans and stir to coat with the butter and garlic.
Sprinkle bouillon over beans, stir to mix, then saute another 5 minutes to desired doneness.
Turn up heat to medium-high, pour in the wine, let it sizzle and evaporate most of the alcohol.
Lower heat, add salt and pepper, and stir thoroughly.
makes 6 servings
