Recipe
Irish Bread Pudding with Caramel Whiskey Sauce

I was planning to wait to blog about this recipe until St. Patrick's Day rolled around...it is an "Irish" bread pudding, after all, and the first time I made it was for our St. Patrick's Day party we hosted last year. However, I've made this recipe many more times since then, and had several requests for a blog post about it, so I've decided it just can't wait until mid-March. What's so special about this bread pudding, you ask? What makes everyone love it so much? Probably the whiskey-soaked raisins and the boozy, cream cheesy sauce that gets spooned over the top. I know - yum. It's good enough to stand on its own, but my favorite way to serve it is over vanilla ice cream. I believe I'll be making this one again soon...I know someone who has a birthday coming up, and I believe this will be his special birthday request. I can't wait.

Also, psst: I was interviewed by Kim Ode, a Star Tribune columnist, a couple months ago for a column she was working on about the Internet and cooking. The column is in today's paper, and it's an interesting read about the online food community, and a couple of recipes from my blog were featured. You can read it by clicking on this link: Totally Wired, or by looking in today's Lifestyle section of the Star Tribune. It was a really fun opportunity...any chance I get to talk about cooking, I'm all over it! :)

That's awesome about the article! So fun when our blogging efforts are recognized!

And I love bread pudding- that sounds heavenly, I'm so glad you finally shared it.

I tagged you this morning for Lia's Braisy Chain- it's a nice event that you can take your time on and do whenever it appeals to you. You should think about it-I suspect we'll be in braising weather for some time here yet.

Hi, Just wanted to say that I found your blog through the Kim Ode piece in the StarTribune, and I'm very happy that I did. It's well written, and I especially enjoyed that today's post was the Irish Bread Pudding from Cooking Light, as my wife and I have been making it for years. We love it, but we've been limiting ourselves to making it only on St. Pat's Day. Congratulations on your inclusion in the newspaper article, and thanks for some great reading!
