So Much Macaroni and Cheese, So Little Time

I LOVE macaroni and cheese: it's the ultimate in comfort food. I know a few people that have absolutely fabulous recipes that I want to try (my Aunt Laurie, my mom, and my sister come to mind), and there are a few more recipes I've found in cookbooks and websites that I need to get to....I think I could eat macaroni and cheese almost every day and be perfectly content. For now though, this recipe is the one I turn to when I want macaroni and cheese. I love the flavor combination of sharp white Cheddar and Gruyere cheese, and the buttery toasted bread crumb topping is the perfect texture contrast to the creamy cheese sauce. It's hard to imagine a macaroni and cheese I would like better, but I'm sure I'll keep experimenting...all in the name of science, of course!

This is truly the best mac & cheese I have ever had. Liz made this for Thanksgiving and I have been craving it ever since. The picture is making me hungry.

Hmmm...if you've been craving it, I guess I'll have to make it for you soon! I'm kind of sad that I don't have any left at home from my potluck last week - you'll have to come over and help me make a new batch!
