Cookies Everyone Will Love

Recipe
Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sometimes, I forget how much I like chocolate chip cookies until I have a really great one. These whole wheat cookies I made for my family while my sister was visiting reminded me just how good a chocolate chip cookie can be. Chewy, with just the right chip-to-cookie ratio, you'd never know that these cookies have been made slightly healthier with whole wheat flour (and I do say slightly, because let's not kid ourselves here, there's still two sticks of butter and quite a bit of sugar in these little golden brown discs of heaven). In fact, I think the whole wheat flour actually enhances the texture of the cookies - it makes them a bit chewier than cookies made with all-purpose flour. They were a big hit with my family...who can resist chocolate chip cookies? It's a good thing I had plenty of people to share these with, because the recipe makes a lot of them. If you want to make them for a smaller crowd, you can always cut the recipe in half. Once baked, they freeze well (I tested it out with a couple), so if you can't eat them all, you can always save some for later!

These are fantastic. I realize we say "slightly healthier" but they really taste very wholesome, making a person feel "slightly" less guilty for overdoing it. :)
