One Last Scent of Apples Baking Before Spring...

Recipe
Apple Crumble with Golden Raisins

One last cool-weather dessert before spring: this combination of apples baked with golden raisins, cinnamon, and a crumb topping is simple, comforting, and delicious. Quite like having apple pie without having to go to the trouble of making a crust, the old-fashioned flavor of this dessert was something I looked forward to having after dinner several nights in a row. It was great on its own, but it reached perfection when it shared the bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There are definitely things to love about the cooler months: baked apples are something I'll miss until fall comes around again. That's the great thing about different seasons though...there's always something to look forward to as they change.

Anna - I think you'd really like this one - you should come over soon so I can make it for you before the weather gets too warm!

Tracy - I'm with you! I can't WAIT for berries and CANTALOUPE - my favorite! Spring and summer fruits are the best.

Ashley - thanks! :)

Well, I'm a bit late in replying to this comment, but as you know, Mom, I went with the Nutella brownies for 6 Feet Under night. The apple crumble will have to wait until next fall - so many desserts, so little time!
